BNP chairperson’s adviser MA Haque’s death due to corona symptoms

 

Former chairperson of Sylhet district and metropolitan BNP MA Haque, an adviser to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, has died due to corona symptoms (Inna Lillahi Oinna Ilahi Raziun Raziun). He died at North East Medical College Hospital in Sylhet at 11am on Friday.

MA Haque was admitted to North East Medical College Hospital in Sylhet on Tuesday with pneumonia and cough. She was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Wednesday night when her condition deteriorated.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Samples have been collected for his corona test.

He was buried on the road in front of Manikpir’s Tillar in the city and after his second janaza at his village home in Mohammadganj village of Balaganj upazila.

MA Haque has been the president of Sylhet district BNP for a long time. He was a candidate for the post of mayor in the National Assembly elections and in the Sylhet City Corporation elections. He was at one time the organizational secretary of Sylhet division.

MA Haque’s village home is in Mohammadpur village of Balaganj upazila. He was the president of Sylhet district BNP for 12 long years. He ran for mayor in the 2003 and 2008 city corporation elections as a candidate of the four-party alliance.

In addition to his political career, Haque is well known for his philanthropic work. He is a patron of the Hawk Foundation. This charity helps the helpless needy community of Sylhet. MA Hawke is survived by two children, a wife and numerous friends and relatives.
